Getting the water out
Dad keeps making the boat fill up with water and I
dont like getting it out again.
The bailers let more water in the boat. I want dad to stop using them.
I got Dad to buy a box and got to work.
If I had worked in the garden it would have been too wet and snowy, so I did it in the house instead.
Dad said "DONT DRILL HOLES IN THE WORKTOP"
I just drilled the box.
Ive got a waterproof switch!
This switch keeps the water out and the electric in.
This is me putting the switch in.
This is me putting the top on now
Hi Ed,
Nice looking device but tell me something do your baillers let water in when the
are shut or do they do it when they are open. If it is when they are open it is
possible the boat is going to slowly for them to work.
Hi Mr Jones
The bailers let more water in when they are open than when they are closed.
When Big Idea opened the bailers when we were going really fast they let the
water out.
When we stopped it all comes back.
We stop when we go onto land and have to get it all out before we can go again.
I dont like getting the water out!
Im not going to make any cakes so I need to take
the wrapper out.
Its time to make two small holes now
I need to use this hot glue for this. This hot glue gun is really hot.
I dont let Daddy play with it because he always burns himself and loses his skin!
The blue thin has to be flat with the bottom of
the box.
I need to turn it over and wait for a moment and then glue the bottom. If you
dont glue the bottom it will fall off.
These wires have to go through the holes
I need to leave a little wire out so I can turn the thing round to get it on.
If you look closely you can see I tied some knots!
Now Im using the hot glue gun to seal up the holes.
Mustnt touch the glue gun on the box or it will melt and you will have a hole in
it.
NO HELPING FROM CLUMSY DADDYS PLEASE!
Hi Mr Jones
This is a pic of one of our bailers.
It lets in water if you tread on it too.
Im cutting the wires because they are too long to
fit in the box
Now I need to take the skin off them (Strip them).
This is a wire joiner. Use this tool to squash it and make it stay on the wire.
This a fuse. I need to use these to stip the wire before I shove it in the connector
Im putting an end on this to stick it on the switch
Daddy forgets the fuse! I didnt
We didnt have any black ends so Im doing it with a marker pen
The battery is in and all the wires on so now we put the lid on and its done
Captain Little Idea (Who doesnt crash and get water in it like Daddy)
Time to see if it fills up with water and goes bang.
Daddy yelled STOP PUMPING WATER ALL OVER THE
FLOOR!
Im in trouble again
I filled the boat right up with water from the
hose pipe and emptied it with the pump.
It took 19 minutes.
Now Ive built two, it should do it faster.
I should be able to get the water out as fast as Dad gets it in.
Great Idea and a lot of thought but it would be better not to get the water in, in the first place.
I know but Daddy really has no idea....
Did I win?
In Greedy ants
You need to get some stuff to make this like I did.
You need to get the box from Tescos
You need to get a fuse from Mrs Lady at Force 4 and a switch that doesnt leak
You need to get a big battery from Maplins
You need to get dad to get a bilge pump from Ebay that has a blue thing at the
bottom.
You need two lots of wire pliers and some terminators and a black pen to colour
some of them
You need to get a hot glue gun - No daddies please!
Then you can build it by instructions that I made and the pictures will help you
mainly.
Thank you for reading this.
Little Idea
Guess what! Its been snowing!
I need to get all the water out - I need to play
with my pump
I need to put the black tube on
I put the pump in the boat
No turning the pump on Daddy!
The water will come out of my nose and that will be yuck!
Lets get the water out shall we?
Lets get Daddy wet instead!
It cant suck up ice. It might damage the fan at the bottom.
Have to scoop it up to throw it at Daddy!
